Warm weather, action packed schedule, draws big crowds

On July 1st and 2nd 2011, the Blatherskite Park Showground came alive as over 18,000 people enjoyed the fun and festive atmosphere of the Alice Springs Show. Although overcast, both days registered above average temperatures for the time of year – t-shirt weather!

Sideshow alley was pumping, the pavilions were packed and more than a couple of dagwood dogs, bags of fairy floss, cupcakes and corn on the cob were enjoyed.

The Amazing Drumming Monkey’s were popular performers with children and adults alike, whilst the Full Tilt KnightRiders joined forces with the Trackskill V8 Utes to race a thrilling relay. A last minute addition but enthralling nonetheless, was the fire show performed before the fireworks spectacular, it featured flaming Diablo’s and batons skillfully juggled by the very entertaining Pete.

A huge highlight of the Show was the Bronco Branding and other Bushman Events. Twenty-six teams from all over Australia competed to honour the late Bill Hayes and his contributions to the Show and the Cattle Industry.

Thank you to everyone who attended and was involved in the 2011 Show, you helped make it such a success!
