Showgirl Judging High Tea

Showgirl judging took place on a gorgeous winter afternoon at the Telegraph station.

All 13 entrants put on their picnic best, brought their guests and were in the spirit for enjoying the Afternoon High Tea.

Fun and frivolity kept the girls on their toes, as they each participated in two novelty activities: The Desert Dwellers Swag Rolling Competition and the Alice Cakes Speed Cupcake Decorating!

With an eye for the aesthetics, Sarah Barlas, a nurse from Ti Tree, took out the cupcake decorating competition with her one-handed action and beautifully decorated flower cupcake.

One of the surprises on the day was local entrant, Bridie Gould, also a nurse, who managed to roll (and clip) her swag the fastest out of all the girls, in 6.4 seconds flat!  An impressive effort and a challenge for anyone to beat!

Each girl was interviewed by the four judges – Bev Ellis, Rohan Barwick, Karl Hampton and Bridget Shelton, and went home with a gift pack with goodies from Mombasa Day Spa, Gloria Jeans, Desert Beauty and Exotiq as well a ticket to the Show! 

The winner of Alice Springs Showgirl will be announced before the Grand Parade, this Friday 1 July at 2:30pm.

The winner and runner up will share in a swag of prizes [note: an actual swag!!], from Desert Dwellers, Mitre 10, Mombasa Day Spa, Sylvester’s, Lasseters, Cherry Red, The Dressing Room, Mixed Lollies, Swank Shoes, Get Physical, Eastside Pilates and more!
