Show Locals

The Alice Springs Show is a great opportunity for local businesses to show off!

The Central Australian Show Society Inc. brings together a broad range of community and commercial interests and presents them to the people of Alice Springs and it’s surrounding areas. The Alice Springs Show attracts more than 18,000 visitors over the two days of the event. This is over 70 percent of the town’s population and is matched by few other events in the country. Many attend more than once to see what is on offer and to enjoy the things that they can only see at this venue at a pace that suits them. It is a great opportunity for businesses to present their services and products to a relaxed and interested customer base that have come to see what is available. Exhibitors have the option of indoor or outdoor sites.

The 2011 show saw a great number and terrific variety of local businesses exhibit who found the experience very rewarding. Dennis Puckett of Alice Kitchens and Cabinets said that his staff who “didn’t do it (work at their show exhibit) this year put up their hand for next year” because those who did participate enjoyed it so much. Furthermore the show generated an “enormous amount of quotes” that translated into a “really good, positive workload”, Mr Puckett said. He also remarked that a lot of people didn’t realise a local company were doing some of the things that Alice Kitchens and Cabinets do, so to “show them what we can do was really good”.
Dave Perry of Perry’s Power thought exhibiting at the show was a great opportunity to catch up with customers he hasn’t seen for awhile and feels that “the Show is always a community thing where we give to the Alice and the Alice gives back to you, people like to see you’re involved”. Wayne Driver who has been selling delicious hot donuts at the show for the past four years also enjoys catching up with people at the show and says it is his biggest event of the year. In regards to the logistics of operating his business at the show he said “setting up is a breeze”.
