A Chook-a-block event, committee members, stewards and invited guests assembled in the Alice Springs Town Council’s Andy McNeill room on the evening of Thursday 05th May 2011, for the official launch of the 2011 show.
Central Australian Show Society President Brad Bellette introduced the 2011 theme ‘Chook-a-block with the things you relish’ and presented the new television commercials, show books and posters. He also updated the audience on developments within the society and at Blatherskite Park, namely the new constitution, marketing plan and the planned erection of a new shed to house the aviculture and poultry sections.
Col Penley, one of the Show Society’s Vice Presidents also spoke, thanking committee members and stewards for their hard work and continued involvement.
Rounding out the evening’s official proceedings was the launch of the new Alice Springs Show website (what you’re looking at now!) by driverweb senior developer Johan Douma.
Months in the making the new website is the hub of show activity. We hope you’ll find the new site easy and enjoyable to navigate. You’ll now be able to see details of what’s on, what you can enter, how to book a stall and get the latest news of what’s happening in show-land. Buying tickets and completing your entries online will be a breeze.
