Entries up at the 2011 Show!

With just under 4000 entries into the 2011 Alice Springs Show it sure was a jam-packed event!

The photography section received over 600 entries and the cooking section was double. It was only the horticulture section that suffered a decline, which was blamed on the current mouse plague and the destruction the rodents have caused to fruit and vegetables.

Indeed there were so many entries in the Poultry Section that extra duck cages had to be built at the last minute – recycled out of what were previously cat cages!

Visitors to the show flocked to view the entries in the pavilions, aviculture and poultry sheds, cattle yards as well as taking in the action of the dog show, horse events and remote controlled cars. There really was something to interest everyone.
